Back to searchFoxhole Web is early. There is a working search engine, a live index behind it, and a model compiling cited answers, but almost everything after that is still to be built.
We are looking for two kinds of people right now: volunteers who will use the thing hard and tell us where it breaks, and founding team members who want to build it.
Beta testers Volunteer
Use Foxhole Web for your real searches and tell us when it gets something wrong. Bad answers, citations that do not support the claim, questions it handles worse than an ordinary search engine, anything slow or confusing.
No technical background needed. The most useful testers are the ones who search a lot and are willing to be blunt.
Founding engineer, backend Equity
Own the search pipeline and the infrastructure under it. Moving off a local machine onto real hosting, making the answer path fast and reliable under traffic, and handling everything that goes wrong when strangers start using it.
Founding engineer, search quality Equity
Own how good the answers actually are. Prompting, model selection and evaluation, how sources get picked and ranked before the model ever sees them, and measuring citation accuracy instead of guessing at it.
Founding designer Equity
Own how the product looks and feels. The search experience, how an answer and its sources are presented, and the brand around it.
Founding growth Equity
Own getting people here and keeping them. Positioning against search engines everyone already uses, the first real distribution, and figuring out what people are willing to pay for.
Equity, plainly
How much equity is not negotiated up front. It is set by the work you actually put in over your first year, so the people who build the most end up owning the most. We would rather do it that way than hand out a number on day one based on an interview.
Grants vest on a standard four year schedule with a one year cliff. In plain terms: nothing is yours until you have been here twelve months. At the twelve month mark a quarter of the grant vests at once, and the remainder vests in equal monthly pieces over the following three years. Leave before the cliff and you keep nothing, which is the same deal everyone here is on.
All of it goes in writing before you start, contracts are the norm at Foxhole.
