Foxhole Web is a search engine that answers the question you asked.

Why it exists

Ordinary search hands you ten links and leaves the reading, cross checking, and stitching together to you. That work is the actual search, and it has been offloaded onto the person asking for thirty years.

The problem with AI search is not how the models work. It is how they get used. A model answering from memory alone will state things confidently that are out of date or were never true. So this one is not allowed to answer from memory.

How it works

Every question runs a live web search first. The results, fresh off the open web, are the only material the model is given. It reads them and writes one answer, and every factual claim carries a numbered citation pointing at the page it came from.

That means you can check the work. If an answer looks wrong, the source is one click away, and you can decide for yourself whether the page holds up.

How it is paid for

Foxhole Web carries one advert on a results page, below the answer, and shopping links when a question is about buying something. Both sit outside the answer, both are labelled, and neither can influence what an answer says, which sources it draws on, or the order they appear in.

Every search costs real money to run. Being straight about how that gets paid for seems better than pretending it does not.
